The Best Day--YET!!!!!!

AHHHHHHH! That is not a scream ah, but a ahhhhhh-as in ahhhh that's awesome. I loved today. It was Isaak's best day of life-I think he really enjoyed it too. We started at 7am and he slept all night long. He didn't even wake up to grunt-awesome. Then I got ready for work (my nia class) and he was super-super happy. He just hung out smiling and looking at lights. I got all ready and was even ten minutes early to my Nia class. The class ended in a standing ovation and who doesn't love to get a standing ovation-if that wasn't enough to make an awesome day when I went to pick up Isaak, Cory was there waiting for me. He got half the day off. Yeah-awesome! So we hurried home and made a picnic lunch and went to the park. Isaak just sat on the blanket with us. We spent time together that didn't involve crying, bouncing, switching off, pacifying or anything of the sort-we just spent time together. I loved it. We were at the park for a couple of hours. I kept Isaak in the shade the whole time, but he looks a little pink to me. I think he got a little too much sun. I hope I'm wrong. He then had a small problem with his acid reflux tonight, but it passed after about 20 minutes. It was awesome. Now he's starting to fall asleep and I'm sighing with relief and great Happiness!!!! I had Cory take a picture of Isaak and I, so I could always remember this day. I love days that are completely simple, but incredibly satisfying.

I can't believe this was so long ago. And your hair is ironed straight in this picture... that looks so different to me. What a great picture!

July 29 Ward Lake & the Library Ketchikan

It's raining it's pouring the old man is snoring. He's really snoring. It's been down pouring since we got here last night and it poured all day long. We got up and headed out to Ward Lake to a BBQ with their church.  It's beautiful. The kids thought it was the best ever because they had donuts, chips, hot dogs, watermelon, cherries and cookies. Isaak of course immediately started playing with some kids his age. Chloe and Lydia frolicked around in the woods and played horseshoes. It stopped raining for maybe 10 minutes, but other than that it picked right back up. I was sure they were going to cancel the BBQ, but again the kids seemed indifferent to all the rain. Okay-so I'm feeling a little more confident today. I went to church and people saw me and nobody screamed. haha! I actually think that I like it-second day is usually always better, eh? It reminds me of a time on my mission when the same kind of thing happened. I said just un petit peu! (a little bit), but I came out with a whole new head of hair and I cried--you have to know that when you are on a mission everything seems worse than it really is and better than it really is-highs and lows=not so many inbetweens. So enough of this blabbing--I'm posting some pictures. So this is what I imagined I might have looked like yesterday when I looked in the mirror--thinking what have I done!!!! The Farthest North Point & Settlers Cove

The rain continues to come down. I've never seen it rain like this before. Teana and Derek told us that the rain is more consistent with weather in October than in the summer, but weather.com promises that a warm front is in store for tomorrow. We went to church in an amazing building. The ward house was completely built in Cedar. Apparently the church shipped a cedar kit and the members of the church in the area worked with general contractors to put it together. It's beautiful and it smells so good!!! Chloe didn't want to go to primary by herself. At first I was trying tough love, but she started weeping. Okay. So she was actually trully scared. I sat with her in primary and then someone in the sharing time chose to sing Gethsemane. Chloe immediately relaxed. I was again aware of how much Heavenly Father cares for his children.
