Love/Hate

I hate this machine. This so called Nebulizer. Isaak hates it even more. I took some pictures of him getting his treatment and had to erase them because they are so sad. Isaak was super duper hyper sick. He woke up on Thursday morning and seemed fine, but by noon he started going downhill. He kept coughing and coughing and coughing and coughing and coughing. Seriously-he'd cough until he puked. We got an appt with our doctor because he's awesome and their office has late night hours. Cory and I thought we might be overreacting, but not so much. The Doctor diagnosed Isaak with Pneumonia. Yuck. I had pneumonia when I was younger and had to be hospitalized. Isaak didn't. Phew. We got an albuterol treatment that night and Isaak slept pretty well that night, but we had to go in the next morning to check on him. He was still sick and had difficulty breathing, so he got another shot, but alas we didn't ask for the albuterol because we thought it didn't help. We were wrong. Poor Isaak suffered through two nights and three days of only getting about 1/2 of sleep at a time. He had the hardest time breathing. On sunday I went back into the doctor. He sat on my lap for two entire hours while we waited. Yep that's how sick he was. He never does that. When he finally got the albuterol treatment again he almost fell asleep inbetween the frantic cries because he was so exhausted. He seems to be doing much better today though he's still coughing and quite congested.

So I hate the albuterol treament because it breaks my heart to hold Isaak down and listen to him say, "Mommy done! Mommy please done! I go bed! Please!" But I love that it open ups his airways so that he can breathe. I'm grateful for medicine and the miracles that it can do. I'm grateful for God and the miracles that he works. I'm also grateful for valentines day. Isaak took a seven hour nap. Yep and he went to bed two hours after he woke up. He was one tired boy. He did help me make some cookies on his short time out of bed.The last one isn't flattering to either of us, but it's the best I got. We both have crazy slept on nap hair. It was a long night--okay? I didn't spend any of those seven hours doing my hair--maybe I should have-haha. I didn't have a heart shaped cookie cutter so I had to settle with circles, but after Isaak helped I really had to settle with roundish blob like cookies. He loved it though. He has asked to make cookies everyday since. Happy Valentines Day!

I could tell when I talked to you on the phone on Thursday you weren't really convinced you needed to take him in. It is soooo hard to decided when you should and when you are over reacting. I am so glad he is feeling better. He is so cute!

I am sorry that poor Isaak is so miserable. The poor little guy. It looks like you two had fun making cookies though. Those are sure some cute pictures.

Little "I" takes his first daring steps into the unknown...okay we didn't really have the camera ready for his first steps, but he took them on Cory's Birthday. Cory was so excited that Isaak actually gave him a Birthday Present--ahhh, I'm sure your heart is melting. We've had some big changes in January. Mainly Cory's work schedule. It's all crazy, but we are adjusting. We've gone snowshoeing about five times already this year. Isaak gets so bundled up that it reminds me of The Christmas Story when the little boys cries because he can't put his arms down. Isaak got swimming lessons for Christmas. I laugh hysterically during the lessons. Isaak isn't a cuddly baby, but in the pool he wraps his little arms around my neck and DOESN'T let go!!! He is warming up to the idea though and was less scared this week compared to last week. But I must admit that I love the cuddling. We also bought him some reusable swim diapers. He looks like he'

Whaaaaat??????

I'm happily brushing my teeth in the bathroom. I'm looking around wondering what else I could be doing while I'm brushing my teeth and I started to think to myself, hmmmm , I wonder what's in toothpaste? I picked up the tube with my free hand and continued brushing. As I was reading the back I noticed a WaRnINg : Do not use for more than four weeks at a time. What? Do not use for more than four weeks? I anticipated reading if you swallow more than what you are brushing your teeth with call poison control. I try to start adding up how long I've been using this toothpaste. Cory didn't like it, so I've been using it solo and it has surely been more than four weeks. Now I don't know what to do with it--do I take a break and come back to it or do I just keep using it? I mean it's been about three months and I still have quite a bit left and nothing seems out of the ordinary yet...But seriously I think that the warning on the toothpaste should at least be
