the rest of my normal week

I realized after finishing my post that I forgot to mention a few huge things that I accomplished last week and they should be mentioned. The first being that I finished canning my bushel of pears!! I finished canning and jamming my half bushel of peaches. I also contemplated raspberry jam, but haven't made it yet. Now I have to go pick some apples to make a whole lot of apple sauce. I must also admit that I had help and in no way could I have ever done it alone. Thank you Carol and Marsha, which really means thank you for bottling my stuff while I chase Isaak around--you are awesome. I also cut open my finger. I was trying to be all prepared for dinner by making pulled pork in the crock pot, but as I was cutting the onion--all went askew. I sliced into my finger and I felt it hit the bone. Then the blood--ewww--I remembered that fingers were bleeders, so naturally I stayed nice and calm-haha. I tried direct pressure and bandaging, but the blasted thing kept bleeding, so I contempl

a normal week

Playing with toys on his personal ottoman. Isn't he cute in those Pajammies? I got them in Portland. Isaak gets really excited when he escapes to the outside. I am about to wow you with how interesting I am...no really I'm not. I'm simply going to talk about my week because I haven't had much more going on. I might even add some pictures of Isaak, but they will be at the top of the blog since I didn't upload them until after.... The highpoint of my week was going to a baby class. Isaak and I went to a baby story time. We got to play ring around the rosie, hokie pokie, and other fun games-it was awesome Isaak giggled and giggled. Then I got to watch Isaak watch the other kids and play on a mat with lots of toys. At this point of baby story time I started to feel a little anxious because I didn't know what baby toy etiquette was. Isaak likes to put pretty much everything in his mouth. I knew these were shared toys--should I let him put them in his mouth? So I tri

GIVE ME A.........

Give me some pom-poms. Yeah that's right. I cheered my heart out last friday. So for those of you that didn't know-you may be shocked to find out that I was a cheerleader in High School-all three years. I even cheered in Junior High School. My friend, Marcie, came up with the idea that we should cheer at our Homecoming Game. Now take into consideration that I graduated from HS over ten years ago. You might be hoping to see some pictures of me in my cheerleading uniform, but I must disappoint you. First of all in High School I had no hips. I actually wore a size 0 or 1. You can only imagine what my skirt looks like on me now. Yikes-I can't even get the zipper up. I'm also nursing which means that I'm more endowed in certain areas--if you know what I mean. So the uniform was 100% out. I showed up late--really late after seven. I found Marcie and we went stomping unto the field with confidence. Haha--just kidding. We actually talked about how nervous we were and debate

Portland or BUST!!

This trip was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!! I got to see some great friends. Chelsie, her cute little pregnant belly, Mike (her hubby), and Sara. My little Sara got married. I even got all teary eyed at the wedding ceremony. I almost got teary eyed before I left. It seemed weird to leave Isaak since the longest time I've been away from him was about five hours--unless you count when we are sleeping. But it was actually a really great trip. It was short, but it was exactly what I needed. The second day of the trip. Don't worry I am driving, but I was stopped at a stoplight. The first night was pretty surprising. I got in and Chelsie picked me up at the airport. Thanks again Chelsie. We went back to their cute home and Sara decided she was going to come by before going home. Well she ended up needing some stuff at the store, so I decided to go and get it for her. Yikes--First problem-I had no idea where I was. I didn't even know how to get back to Chelsie's house. I remembered seeing

Swagging me Tongue

I'm announcing loudly and proudly that I have a new goal. I am going to quit gossiping--that's right. I'm going to stop swagging me tongue. I want to have control. I've never talked bad about somebody and said, "Wow that felt awesome. I wish I could talk more trash about people." I'm not including expressing frustrated emotions--those are still game, but I'm talking about slamming people and getting excited about it.... I'm done with it. If you catch me swagging my tongue--tell me, but you have to say--Sadie, seriously, are you swagging? Then it will save me from being utterly embarrassed and we can laugh about using the word swagging in a sentence.

the rest of lake powell...

I couldn't resist posting a few more pictures. We had so much fun and they are soo cute.. soooo... Just a little proof that Isaak wasn't always smiling. He didn't like swimming in his life jacket. Isaak playing in the tube. He just stood up on the bottom and bounced himself around. I'm sure you can tell he loved it. Cory and Derek going after eachother on the tubes. It's kind of fuzzy, but they are laughing as they are plowing eachother down.. I on the other hand let go of the tube every time I thought it might get close to being a little rough. I'm a wuss and I'll admit it... Before the boat ride. I just want to point out that neither of the babies are crying in this picture which isn't always the case when you try to put them in life jackets. After--the two of them all snug and sweaty in their lifejackets in their pack and plays. I love our pack and play, but seriously who designs how these things work??? I think it took us almost a half an hour to

Our summer adventures

I figure since it's September I need to get caught up on all the things we did in August. I can't believe the summer is already over--Hello Fall!! I love fall. First of all, I get sick of it being so blasted hot, second I love the smell of crisp mornings, and third it's the best time to play ultimate frisbee or roller hockey with out the roller. I used to play all the time before I met Cory. Ahhh the single days. I do miss being able to get enough people together to play--where can us marrieds go enjoy a game of ultimate, eh?????? We have had a busy month. I went to Portland-I think I'll keep that blog separate. We just got back from Lake Powell. We've been hiking several times. You are going to get pictured out. I've warned you. So let's start with Lake Powell. Oh boy, oh boy. This was quite the week. It was awesome fun. I got to spend a lot of time with Teana, Gina and their lover boys along with meeting Gina and Jared's family. They were awesome. We s
