Trudging along


I think going from one to two kids is so much easier than when you have your first. I don't know if it's the idea that you are already in family mode or that you are more prepared to have your world turned upside down. I'm tired often, but I try to nap in the afternoons when I can. I don't seem to have much solo time because I've either got Isaak or Chloe with me. Chloe aka the cuddlebug loves to be held all the time. Chloe takes a nap about 5 to ten minutes before Isaak wakes up from his. But at least I have a few minutes right? She's sleeping now and Isaak is wreaking havoc with his best buddy Jayda. They really are wreaking havoc--How can kids make messes so fast? I'm amazed. I need to work on my mess making skills because they put me to shame unless you count cooking for dinner. I can mess up a kitchen, but i hate to clean it up.
I'm happy to have two kids and my recent dilemma is when to have what kid wait. I want to
make both Isaak and Chloe happy, but sometimes they have needs at the exact same time. I love when they are both crying because then I have to decide what is most important to handle before I get a headache. On the way to the library today they were both screaming in the back and I just turned on some Christmas Music and Isaak eventually started singing with me and Chloe gave up her crying because she wanted out of the carseat and into my arms. the blissful calm that proceeded for the last ten minutes of the drive was awesome. My mind is all over the place because I'm overtired, but not terribly so. I even think that I'll attempt another child. I was talking to my aunt and uncle and they have a boy and a girl and now they wished they
would have toughed it out and had a couple more, so I think I have some grit in me, but not for at least a few years. I only have so much grit. I can't use it all up in just a few years. I'm going to post some scrapbooking that I've done and I have some pictures from Chloes blessing that hopefully I will get downloaded...this week....or maybe next. But they are cute. Off to feed the baby as she wakes!!!! I forgot to make mention that Isaak likes Chloe. He was asked the other night if it was okay if someone else took her home and he said, "No thats my baby." Phew. so he may get jealous and be rough, but at least he likes having her around.

I love it. And thank you for the photos! Chloe is gorgeous. Seriously the cutest baby. It makes me Kindve excited. I cannot wait to meet her!!!!

Good to hear that the transition is easier from 1 to 2 kids. I always worry about that, too. Can't wait to see you guys soon. We're in town! Let's catch up and I can't wait to meet little Chloe :)

July 29 Ward Lake & the Library Ketchikan

It's raining it's pouring the old man is snoring. He's really snoring. It's been down pouring since we got here last night and it poured all day long. We got up and headed out to Ward Lake to a BBQ with their church.  It's beautiful. The kids thought it was the best ever because they had donuts, chips, hot dogs, watermelon, cherries and cookies. Isaak of course immediately started playing with some kids his age. Chloe and Lydia frolicked around in the woods and played horseshoes. It stopped raining for maybe 10 minutes, but other than that it picked right back up. I was sure they were going to cancel the BBQ, but again the kids seemed indifferent to all the rain. The Farthest North Point & Settlers Cove

The rain continues to come down. I've never seen it rain like this before. Teana and Derek told us that the rain is more consistent with weather in October than in the summer, but weather.com promises that a warm front is in store for tomorrow. We went to church in an amazing building. The ward house was completely built in Cedar. Apparently the church shipped a cedar kit and the members of the church in the area worked with general contractors to put it together. It's beautiful and it smells so good!!! Chloe didn't want to go to primary by herself. At first I was trying tough love, but she started weeping. Okay. So she was actually trully scared. I sat with her in primary and then someone in the sharing time chose to sing Gethsemane. Chloe immediately relaxed. I was again aware of how much Heavenly Father cares for his children. Dear Isaak, Happy Birthday my little guy! It feels like just yesterday that you were literally pulled out to come into this world. Yes literally with forceps around your little head because you accidentally faced the wrong direction or maybe you faced the direction you wanted to. You didn’t seem like you were quite ready to come out because you were just wailing--almost like you were saying, “You know--I was perfectly comfortable in there.” I’ve learned this year that you surely know what you want and you will not stop until you get it. For example when we tried to spend the weekend away from home and you didn't like sleeping in your playpen! You woke up every 1/2 hour to let us know you weren't comfortable. You finally fell asleep around 3am when we put you on the bouncer. Cory slept with his arm around you on the floor so you didn't roll off. You weren’t going to come easy, eh??
